X-Ray Proficiency and Safety for the Chiropractic
Assistant
Instructor: Dale Rollette, D.C.
This
36 hour program is offered to assist doctors in the
education of their staffs and compliance with state laws
which require chiropractic assistants involved in the
taking of x-rays to be certified.
During the three-weekend course, CAs will be exposed to
the latest information regarding diagnostic imaging.
Course work will stress operating and safety procedures.
Through the lectures, students will gain practical
knowledge in basic anatomy, proper positioning,
shielding, patient dosage, processing and quality
problem solving techniques. Textbook knowledge is
then enhanced and reinforced through hands-on training,
a feature unique to CAL's program.

Nutrition and Neurology
Co-sponsored by Nutri-West
South and featuring Dan Murphy, D.C., D.A.B.C.O.
This 12-hour
presentation will focus upon discussion of technique
with emphasis on the balance relationship between
perception of pain, spinal joint mobility, chiropractic
diagnostics and adjustment management goals. A
portion of the program includes discussion of the 5
primary concepts of chronic spine pain and their
clinical relationship to the chiropractic adjustment as
well as the chiropractic adjustive techniques affecting
the neurology of joint mechanoreception as it affects
pain inhibition and transneural degeneration on the
chronic pain patient.
The presentation will
also cover how the adjustment affects the spinal cord,
the brain, the muscular system and the vascular system.
And, finally, Dr. Murphy will address the nutritional
influences on cardiovascular function, brain function,
arthritis and cancer.
Continuing Education Credits: Approved for 12
hours of continuing education credit in Arkansas,
Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

Risk
Management for the Chiropractic Office
Featuring Brad Hayes, D.C.
This 7-hour program is
intended to enhance the doctor's understanding of
critical risk management issues as they relate primarily
to treatment protocols and the coding and documentation
of services. It is specifically designed to teach
Doctors of Chiropractic how to avoid documentation
pitfalls that can lead to charges of insurance abuse and
fraud.
Continuing

credit in the specialized subject area of Risk
